B.A. Music

Overview

Our B.A in Music is designed for students with a musical background who desire to receive a solid education in music while also pursuing studies in other areas. Students may choose between Music, Music Production, and Modern Worship as their emphasis. The program’s diverse emphasis options allow students great flexibility in pursuing their unique interests. This program is perfect for students seeking a music-centered liberal arts education or wishing to receive professional preparation in another field while continuing to develop their musical abilities.

Emphases

The B.A. in Music offers three emphases: Music, Music Production, and Modern Worship. The Music emphasis allows students to choose two focus areas from a broad array of music studies, communications, biblical studies, and business areas. Performance requirements may be satisfied by a recital or a project.  The wide range of learning coupled with the discipline of music engenders open doors in numerous music-related and non-music fields.  The Production emphasis prepares students to utilize the latest audio technology in numerous arenas in the media industry and churches. This program combines musical studies with courses in music recording and production, giving our students practical experience in both performing and producing music. The Modern Worship emphasis best prepares students to reach the whole body of worshipers in evangelical churches. It equips them with a foundation of theology and a variety of skills in music that will apply to the ever-changing climate of worship, including areas of worship band leadership, arranging, training in sound systems and multimedia, and service design.
