Bio
Preston Shepard is a freelance hornist, sound engineer and educator based in Los Angeles, CA. He is a tenured member of the LA Jewish Symphony, and has performed with the Hollywood Chamber orchestra, San Bernardino Symphony, Riverside Philharmonic, Desert Symphony, Orquesta Sinfonica UANL (Monterry, Mexico), and many others. Preston is frequently found in LA’s top studios, haven played numerous recording sessions for such noted composers as, Bruce Broughton, Jack Wall, Lorne Balfe, Sean Callery, Garry Schyman, Inon Zur and many others. Some recent credits include Geostorm (Lorne Balfe), and the IMAX/ABC/Marvel studios collaboration, Inhumans (Sean Callery). Preston attended both Cal State University Northridge, and Azusa Pacific University where he studied horn with Joseph Meyer. He has also studied with John Mason, Steve Becknell and Greg Roosa. Preston is also an active sound engineer, having worked as a music editor, mixer, sound effects editor and re-recording mixer on over 3 dozen feature films and television shows. His work has earned him 2 MPSE “Golden Reel” nominations for the hit web-series “Video Game High School”.
