Bio

Professor Okonowski grew up in Ontario Canada and attended The University of Waterloo, where she received a B.S. in Kinesiology, with a full National Science and Engineering Research Council scholarship to continue her academic studies. She went on to McMaster University to complete a Master of Science in Human Biodynamics with an emphasis in Biomechanics. Prior to joining the faculty at TMU, she worked in sports medicine, stroke rehabilitation, ergonomics, functional abilities evaluations, exercise rehabilitation and has taught at all levels in educational settings. Dawn and her husband Warren have three boys, David, Michael and Jacob … and can frequently be found sitting in the stands watching them play basketball!
