Biblical Studies
Overview
The Biblical Studies emphasis is designed to give the student a solid foundation in the content of the Bible, with a particular focus on analyzing individual biblical books and understanding the progressive unfolding of revelation across the Old and New Testaments. Students also receive a grounding in the languages, culture, and history of the biblical world, and many spend a semester studying the Bible in Israel through our IBEX program.
Whether a student is pursuing graduate studies in the Bible and/or professional ministry, or whether they desire to handle the Bible accurately in their homes and churches in a lay capacity, our Biblical Studies emphasis provides them with ideal preparation. Our faculty’s deep concern for proper hermeneutics means that our students graduate not only knowing what the Bible says, but also knowing how to study it independently and explain it faithfully to others.
