Pre-Physical Therapy
Overview
The Pre-Physical Therapy emphasis, B.S. in Kinesiology & Physical Education program prepares students to enter graduate programs in physical therapy (D.P.T.), occupational therapy (O.T.), physician assistance (PA-C), podiatric medicine (D.P.M.), chiropractic medicine (D.C.), and other allied health programs. Because of the strong preparation they receive here, 95% of our graduates who apply to allied health graduate schools are accepted. Some of our alumni have gone on to earn M.D., D.O., MOT, PA, and MSN degrees.
We offer classes taught by physical therapists and healthcare experts who have practiced what they are teaching. Our students also have access to technological resources such as ECGs, surface EMGs, a body fat analyzer, a blood lactate analyzer, Microsoft Complete Anatomy 2020, a cycle ergometer, a treadmill, and interactive learning boards. Internships at places like Henry Mayo Hospital, SCV Therapy, and Valencia Sports Medicine give them an opportunity to gain practical experience, and many of our students also participate in TMU-sponsored medical missions trips overseas.
